The MCP Program provides technical professionals with a means to demonstrate their proficiency in Microsoft BackOffice and developer products by passing certification exams. The Microsoft MCP Certification credentials you can obtain include:
Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP)
Designed for individuals who want to demonstrate their expertise with a particular Microsoft product, the MCP credential provides a helpful "stepping-stone" to Microsoft's other Certifications (MCSE, MCSD). Required to pass any one Microsoft Certification Exam.
Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) Provides a valid and reliable measure of technical proficiency and expertise with desktop, server and enterprise networking components along with BackOffice products. For Windows 2003: required to pass 5 core and 2 elective exams.
Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA)
This credential is the premier certification for professionals who implement,
manage, and troubleshoot the ongoing needs of Microsoft Windows 2003-based
operating environments, including Windows .NET Server. Required to pass
3 core exams and 1 elective exam.
Microsoft Certified Solution Developer (MCSD)
Designed to test the user's ability to build Web-based, disributed, and E-Commerce applications. Required to pass 3 core technology exams (Solution Architectures, Designing and Implementing Desktop Applications (MS Visual Basic 6.0 or Visual C++ 6.0), and Designing and Implementing Distributed Applications (Visual Basic 6.0 ir Visual C++ 6.0) and 1 elective (e.g. SQL Server 7.0, Site Server 3.0 etc.)
