Sherry Bishop

Sherry Bishop, an information technology instructor at North Arkansas College in Harrison, Arkansas, teaches classes in Web Design, Desktop Publishing, Image Editing, and 2D Animation. She has authored books on Macromedia Dreamweaver for the Course Technology Illustrated Series and the Design Professional Series. She is a Novell Certified Network Administrator.

Sherry has presented at the League for Innovation Conferences on Information Technology, Course Technology Annual Conferences, and Course Universities. By standing request, Sherry and a colleague have provided the first time attendees orientation at the League for Innovation Conference on Information Technology for the last four years.

Sherry was the recipient of the Outstanding Teacher award in 2003 at North Arkansas College and the National Institute for Staff & Organization Development (NISOD) Excellence in Teaching award in 2002.

She was the first recipient of the First National Bank of Green Forest Endowed Chair for business and technology at North Arkansas College in 2001 for her proposal "Flash in the Class." As a college instructor, Sherry takes pride in the placement of her students in jobs utilizing skills acquired through her classes.

Elizabeth Eisner Reding

Elizabeth Eisner Reding has authored many books for Course Technology in the Illustrated and Design Professional series. The author of the first Design Professional book, Liz was instrumental in creating many of the design elements found in the series.

Her design experience also includes corporate newsletters, advertising and marketing materials, and corporate identity branding. Her software expertise includes programs in the Microsoft Office suite, Adobe Photoshop, QuarkXPress, HTML, and Microsoft Publisher. She has taught in the corporate, college, and community sectors.

Jim Shuman

Jim is on the faculty at Bellevue Community College (BCC) where he has taught for over 25 years, with additional teaching at California State University and Shanghai International Studies University. Instructional areas include Web Authoring, Web Animation, Interactive Multimedia and Information Technology.

Jim spent eight years as Project Director for the National Workforce Center for Emerging Technologies. The NWCET is a NSF Advanced Technology Education Center of Excellence, and is nationally recognized as a leader in delivering innovative solutions for IT education. Jim managed a group of Web designers, instructional designers, graphic artists and content specialists in the development of full-content, multimedia based, online courses and course supplements.

In addition to teaching, Jim is the Director of the BCC Faculty Resource Center where he works with a group to assist faculty in the application of Web and multimedia technology to instruction. Projects have included interactive multimedia courseware in basic science skills; a tutorial on DNA replication; computer-based instruction and testing of language skills; informational kiosk; and numerous web sites designed to enhance instruction.

He was instrumental in the design and development of the original BCC and NWCET Web sites. Jim has authored several textbooks on computer applications, Web development, Animation and Multimedia; as well as having conducted numerous national workshops and presentations on these topics. Jim enjoys travel, golf, hiking, skiing, baseball and reading.
