About the Authors
Rachel Biheller Bunin
Rachel Biheller Bunin, author of the Growing with Technology Series, a new Thomson Course Technology series for elementary-aged students, is an established author and editor of information technology educational textbooks.
With 23 years’ experience in the publishing industry and major contributions to over 40 technology titles, Ms. Bunin has published six of her own titles on topics including Computer Concepts, WordPerfect, Microsoft Project, and Microsoft PowerPoint.
Most recently she has applied her technology knowledge and writing experience, as the primary author for the new Growing with Technology Series, which guides young learners with technology educational materials throughout their elementary education.
Rachel Bunin has a M.Ed. from Fordham University, focusing on educational psychology and educational technology, and a B.A. in psychology from State University of New York at Binghamton.
Gary Shelly and Tom Cashman
Thirty years ago, computer educator Tom Cashman collaborated with Gary Shelly, one of his students and a brilliant young programmer, on their first book: IBM System/360
Assembler. From that book's success came Anaheim Publishing Company,
headquartered in the Cashman family's garage, with no sales force and just
$1300 of used equipment. 
Twelve years later, Shelly and Cashman were a leading publisher in computers
and programming. In 1981, they published the first ever full-color Introduction
to Computers text. Not only did they sell 300,000 copies of this edition,
they changed the face of the Introductory computer course forever. Today,
the Shelly Cashman Series books are used by thousands of educators and
millions of students, all around the world
