Thomson Course Technology Inspires Computer Technology Educators at 12th Annual National Conference

Event Provided Training, Networking, and General Sessions Focused on New Microsoft Technology

Boston, MA — March 8, 2007 — Thomson Course Technology, the worldwide leader in computing education and part of Thomson Learning, held its 12th Annual National Conference February 28th through March 2nd in Orlando, Florida. This annual three-day conference is the premier industry event for computer technology educators providing hands-on training, networking opportunities, and general discourse on industry trends, teaching, and courseware solutions.

More than 500 professors, administrators, and teachers from universities, community colleges, career and high schools from across the country attended this year’s event.

Thomson Course Technology kicked off the release of the Microsoft Office 2007 and Windows Vista products and the conference was focused on the impact of these news technologies on today’s student and tomorrow’s professional. The event offered solutions for how to transform courses and engage students and allowed for interaction with renowned Thomson Course Technology authors.

The sold-out conference featured more than 50 educational sessions and hands-on labs, a keynote presentation by Tony Franklin of Microsoft, an exhibit hall showcasing the latest Thomson Course Technology products, as well as those of the show’s sponsors—Novell, Certiport, and Hostingspot.com.

Key topics of this year’s National Conference included introductions to the features of the new Microsoft software applications as well as transitioning a course for the change, web design, and development applications; methods to enhancing the learning environment and engaging students, security and digital media; and how to incorporate assessment into the classroom.
